New Furniture! Drexel & Baker
Dresser: Drexel Profile Furniture Line designed by John Van Koert. In production from 1955-1961. Purchased in Goodwill for $80.
Mirror: Made by Baker Furniture Company. Solid brass (not hollow). I ripped two holes in my wall trying to hang it. I decided it was safer to rest it on something. Purchased in Goodwill for $7.99. It matches this bed

Love the mirror-lucky find! Don't you wonder what happened to the rest of the matching suite.
ReplyDeleteHi - I'm passing on the Liebster Blog Award to you, it's given to up and coming blogs that have less than 200 followers. For more info go to www.gonethrifting.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteWow,
ReplyDeleteI'm a first time visitor to your site. I'm digging all your awesome finds. When I lived in Michigan I found lots of Mid Century Modern at thrift stores. It's a little harder to get a good deal in New York City. You're in competition with collectors that find it for their antique stores. You're also very knowledgeable about the makers and production dates. I'll be back. You've been bookmarked. Meanwhile, check out my new blog at www.midcenturymodernmix.com I'd love it if you became a participant. I'd be happy to link to your blog.
Happy Thanksgiving from New York City,
Karen
I found the same dresser with the original mirror at a thrift shop for 30 bucks. I stumbled across this site whilst looking for information on this piece. I had no idea the history.
