JHQ Peppermill
I found this in my local goodwill. I recognized it immediately, and grabbed it. It's a Jens Quistgaard designed peppermill for dansk. I believe this is an early design. It is manufactured from 1 peace of solid teak., and the grain on the bottom and top of the mill match. I didn't understand why these mills were so collectable. Now I do. They are very high quality and the design is amazing.

Richard Claude Ziemann Etching "Leaving the Grove" 10/50 1966
I reciently became interested in etchings, after seeing an artists work during a local open studio tour. I couldn't afford one from the artist, but I have been looking in goodwill. This large etching was sitting in the window of one on the shops I frequent. I picked it up and I could tell it was a quality frame. It was titled, dated, signed, and was 16/50. I learned that the most desired prints are the fearlier ones, so that was a good sign. The frame had a sticker indicating it was framed in Lower Manhattan (another good sign). I decided to purchase it for $9.99.
When I got home I did some research
Richard Claude Ziemann has works in the National Collection of Fine Arts, Smithsonian Institution; the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC; The Library of Congress, D.C.; Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Brooklyn Museum of Art, Yale University Art Gallery.
Bio and Info from the Peter Ross Gallary
Exhibit in the Brooklyn Museum 1979
It turned out to be a piece of fine art
Studio Pottery Lamp Signed Brown
It is very hard to do a google search for a potter who signs "brown". I can tell this is a great piece of pottery. The lamps is perfectly round, the turn marks are perfectly even, the carved decoration is flawless, and the piece is increadably light. This is definately made by a master potter. It's in the danish modern style. Found in goodwill for $3.99.
Eames Era Aluminum Wall Sconces

New Couch
My couch broke about a month and 1/2 ago. I have been hunting for one since. I found this couch free on craigslist. I had to drive about an hour to get it, but it was well worth it. It has a Hamilton Standard property tag on it, so I guess it was originally in their offices. Manufactured by the Gunlocke company. The wooden arms are solid walnut.
Gunlocke is still around. Here is there website
